- SPITS
- is a Dutch project, tasked with creating Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) concepts that can improve mobility and safety. It is defining an open and scalable platform for future systems and exploring new techniques in cooperative driving and mobility, to contribute to a more efficient and sustainable mobility solution. In-vehicle solutions will ensure a connected link between the vehicle and the outside world. SPITS is also exploring concepts to create a service download and management solution for in-vehicle services that will cover consumer, fleet and traffic applications. Within SPITS I am responsible for the following:

Solution Architect for CVIS Personal Report at Logica
December 2009 – April 2010
- CVIS
- (Cooperative Vehicle-Infrastructure Systems) is a major new European research and development project aiming to design, develop and test the technologies needed to allow cars to communicate with each other and with the nearby roadside infrastructure. (See also CVIS-Project home)
At Intertraffic Amsterdam 2010 Logica showcased a set of applications for Cooperative Mobility Conference 2010.
I was responsible for the technical realisation of dynamic personalized reports that were based on data collected during the 2010 Showcase. My main tasks and deliverables were:
- Design and Implementation of an "API" for vehicles (among others) that allows data to be sent to a central backend in a simple and transparent way
- Design and Implementation of central backend including Web-based management GUI
- Linking of this a barcode scanner to these central backend via the "API"
- Design and Implementation of an Agent to sent events in the CVIS platform transparently to the central backend
- Design and Implementation of a Module that generates dynamic PDF reports on the basis of the logged data and several templates
Technical Manager EDSN Programme at Logica
June 2006 – November 2009 (3 1/2 years)
EDSN is the service provider in the field of devising, fixing and improving the market processes behalf of liberalised Dutch energy market. Logica does several projects for EDSN where we develop new systems to facilitate the cross company processes as well as maintain and support these systems. I am responsible for the total technical solution of the EDSN programme. On the basis of my vision and technical conditions these projects are delivered. Other tasks and responsibilities are:
- Write Proposals to improve application landscape efficiency and quality of the EDSN;
- Substantive speaker for EDSN concerning the application strategy
- Review and challenge of project quality plans and technical designs
Project Manager XML Pilot at Logica
2007 – 2007 (less than a year)
This projects goal was to obtain better insight into the value to users of a XML-communication channel of ESwitch- Application and obtain a better insight in the total investments which are necessary for this to be completely implemented. Under my supervision the following things have been realised:
- Technical design which shows how a XML- communication channel on existing ESwitch-Application can be built
- Successful implementation of a number of 'ECH'-message in XML
- Detailed performance tests which showed that the prototype XML- channel is faster than the current batch variant.
Lead Bug fixer EDSN-Applications at Logica
December 2004 – May 2006 (1 1/2 year)
Every month the AMS-project team of EDSN produces a new release of the software for the services of EDSN. As Lead Bug fixer I was responsible for the contents of the release as well as the stability of the whole production platform. My main tasks and responsibilities were:
- Lead other bug fixers
- Monitor and reports progress
- (Assist with) solving of complex bugs
- Monitor stability EDSN system
- Plan the contents of next bug fix Releases
- Communication with the customer concerning the contents of the Release
- Support of project manager
